Quick question, how many hours would a child need to be in your care (per week) to be classed as full time?
I offer a discount for full time hours and wanted to compare my idea of 'full time' with other childminders.

Thanks. :)

I'd make sure to specify it in hours as I'm sure parents would love to quibble ;)

40hrs is considered full time by the HMRC if you're calculating expenses based on a portion of your bills.

I'd say full time was Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm (or whatever your hours are)

I'd say 4o hours. The rest is more than a full time.

I work around 58 hours (soon 70) a week and wouldn't be happy to call it full time :). Although I do not know what to call the rest! Overtime I suppose, or madness

I'd say full time was Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm (or whatever your hours are)

This is what I do, to get a small discount it's 5 full days per week

In order to qualify for full-time it has to be minimum of 40hrs a week for me
I'm open for 51hrs but I'll accept 40 as FT.

Depends how many days you work!!

I only childmind three days a week so my two little ladies that attend all three days for more than six hours a day I class as "full time" then the rest are "part time"

But for everyone else who works 5 days a week I would say 40 hours per week or Mon-Fri 08.00-6.00 :D xx

I would class 40hrs a week as full time but i offer reduced daily rate to children who attend 8hrs+ a day

Full time for me is 5 full days , I offer a daily rate or a weekly rate which offers a very small discount - In general i dont work any less , so they dont pay any less!

I'm open 4 days a week and to me full time is four full days. That is parents paying the full daily rate, regardless of contracted hours within that time.

I currently work 7.30am-6pm. I've classed 40hrs+ as full time so this seems about right. Thanks. :)
