nursery start date

hi, ive got 3 year old starting a council run nursery next term i thought he was leaving me next week because the term starts first week in sep, mum said hes starting nursey 1st oct, dont no why they will only let him start on that date, they will still get paid for the 4 weeks when mum as to pay me! doesnt seem fair to me our head count week is 5th october, i claim the nursery funding but i wouldnt be able to claim just for the 4 weeks, does anyone else no if this happens in a lot of council run nurseries?

I think what you can do is claim for the term, take out your 4 weeks worth and give the rest to the nursery so that they can continue to fund him for the remainder of the term? Worth getting in touch with the nursery?
