at last!

I don't know if any of you remember, but a while ago I posted on here about a mindee that I had to (a) give notice on and (b) report myself to Ofsted, as he said I punched and kicked him (I didn't!) I tried to get mum to have him assessed as I thought there was something not right - I mentioned Autism but she completely fobbed me off and didn't want to know, she was so blinkered. One day at the door he was stood biting her, with her saying to me "he's fine at home" and making me think it was somehow my fault - his behaviour was really awful, and there was absolutely no reasoning with him. I used to have people coming up to me in the street asking what was wrong with him and was I ok. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I saw his mum today and guess what....? He's just been diagnosed as having Autism!!!!!

I feel strangely smug but why don't they listen to us?!

I'm glad she's finally realised she needs some support and that there is an underlying problem with him that she can now work on with the professionals.
