last question tonight, i promise. One of my mindees will be starting pre school in september and i have had to explain to mum today that i will need to charge a retainer fee while the child is at pre school. She eventually aggreed to this but has asked that i provide a letter to explain this for her to send to the uni that provide her bursary. Does the following sound ok?
As discussed in meeting today, I charge retainer fees of £2p/h whilst children are in pre-school. This is in line with other childminders because unfortunately I am unable to fill a space while your child is in pre-school and would therefore be losing money. If for any reason your child needs to leave pre-school (i.e. power cut/flood, bump to the head) I would be expected to collect your child and would not be able to do this if I did not have an available space.
