Not exactly, but in April HMRC bowed to pressure and announced that they would introduce a concession, backdated to April 2011 to allow it.

Oh fab. Is it just 1 x 5p or 5p per cm passenger? So if I give 3 cms a lift to a Training session can I charge 45p + 15p per mile?

Believe it or not, it is 5p per passenger!

Here (http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/bimmanual/BIM47702.htm) are the full details.

So am I reading it right that if myself and my assistant and 3 mindees go out, I can claim the 45p per mile plus an additional 20p per mile for 1 assistant and 3 mindees?

No its for business or associate's not minded children. So if you took three other minders to a training session with you you could claim 45p + 15p per mile.
