do i need to make a payment straight away ?

Hi I did and made a payment when they sent out in invoice in the post around 7 days later.

It is my understanding that you should only use this method if you are unable to register via your local authority at the end of the training course.

Hi
i applied online once the local authority gave me the forms. my envelope had the old address and didn't stick! so thought it would be better. I am glad i waited, i felt so more in control for my pre-reg visit as i had done my course and had the Local authority do what i felt was a mock inspection, making sure i was ready. i got my invoice about a week or 2 later and 5 weeks on the dot i had my pre reg visit! i am still waiting for my certificate though!
