I've seen an advert today for a trainee teacher offering childcare and babysitting during the summer holidays. Is she allowed to do this? I thought that you had to be registered with Ofsted to offer childcare (obviously not for babysitting though)? Hx

Without knowing all the facts it is hard to say. She may be going to parents houses, maybe she is registered... or perhaps she could be doing it out of the goodness of her own heart and giving her time freely lol.

This may sound sneaky and people may think he awful for it, but I would be tempted to call her up as a parent needing care and asking about her services and asking about being Ofsted registered and seeing what she says about it.

If the childcare is in the childs home then there are no restrictions
There is an ofsted leaflet - Registration not required - perhaps you could contact her and point her in that direction.
