hi ive just seen a lady about childcare
she wanted me to have her son from 8.30 each morning and then walk him up to school for nine oclock.
sounds good so far!!!
well she came round and we disscussed it we were both happy UNTILL it came to money!!!!
i wasnt sure how much to charge for this so i spoke to my sister ( mrs bumbles)
and she said about £4.50 per morning
that sounded about right to me as i dont have to a school run in the morning and would be going out just for him
well anyway when i told her she laughed. so i asked her hoe much she was thinking of and she said GET READY FOR THIS ITS A GOOD ONE
£5 per week:eek:
there is no chance i am dragging myself out every morning for £1 a day she also added that some mornings he would need to have breakfast
oh well i said i would leave it with her but the £4.50 still stands

cheeky woman!!!!!!! some parents must think we do this job just for there convience(sp?) i wouldnt get out of be for a £1 let alone care for and feed a child, it would cost more than £1 per day in breakfast if hes a picky eater, is she mad?? or just trying it on? surley she knew your prices before hand? some people, i just dont know what to say to that. good luck if the woman rings back!!!!lol xxx

What a silly woman!

I think for the inconvenience you could have probably charged more - especially with breakfast included

Many minders I know have a minimum hours per week charge as well :D

I charge a minimum of 10 hours a week at £3.00ph so i think this parent is getting a good deal with the £4.50!! cheeky cow!

I've got to admit, not sure I would take this one on.

Is it worth a measly £4.50 to have the bother of doing a school run, which you don't normally do.

Now I am surprised that you wouldn't want to take this on!!!;) After all thats a lot of money to be trudging up to school when you don't have to.

Cheeky bloomin mare - if she does come back to you I would smile ever so sweetly and say you have revised your fees in the interim and its now gone up to £5 per morning (and that includes breakfast).

What a cheek!!! It would cost you more than that in paper for all the extra permission forms etc.

I would not do a school run for £4.50. It would be £4.00 for an hour and £4.00 to take him to school. So it would be £8.00. and i would still rather not do it. :panic:

bloomimg cheek

i am starting with an after school in septemebr and her sister from 11.30
mum asked me if i would do occasional drop offs and i said yes for a charge of £5 plus the hourly rate
so even if the girls arrived at 20 to 9 so i am going to charge her a minimum of £11.75 to walk 500 yards up the road as i don't have any other reason to go out and i'd have to take 2 little ones too
