I have siblings one at school & one pre school who starts school in August

Im in Scotland and here our certificates talk about children"not yet attending primary school" in our numbers

So....I was wondering(as i do )

If when this term finishes and its summer hols if this mindee can then be in my older age group as surely he will be no different to his brother in the hols? as no he doesnt start primary school until aug but he is not at nursery either

Hope you get what i mean??

No idea Jill but I didn't want to read and run - your certificates sound as complicated as our Ofsted ones!

No idea either, as my certificate it BFEYS, maybe we should have a competition to see which ruling body has the most complicated way of wording things xx :D

Hi there,

I'm in scotland too, I looked into this and was told that they count as 'not yet attending primary school' until august when they actually start school.

I would say they won't be in the school age until they start full time 10 sessions a week school (not settling in) like in England.

It's all linked to the Childcare Act :D
