A friend has lost her old child minder, and has asked if I would child mind (paid) before and after school for her, which I'm really happy to do. I think her previous arrangements were fairly 'casual' (legally..), but I am registered for Self Assessment Tax, and would like to make sure that I am doing it all properly!
The children will be over 8 years, so I should not need to register as a childminder, but I am wondering about indemnity insurance? How do I cover myself if I am not a registered child minder?

I not sure - it might be worth ringing NCMA and asking them or Morton Michell, they both offer Public Liability Insurance?
