hi,

ive had an enquiry for school pick up for a 7year old and 9year old. All seems perfect.

just need to check that i can do it. can i have 4 x 5-8 year olds and only 2 under 5's? i think i can do it that way.

one of my under 5's goes home at 1.30pm so i can do this school pick up cant i. she is 8 in dec anyway, so only 1 week of school hol's that could be an issue.

im getting so confuddled at the moment as i was planning on asking for a variation in sept but dont think i need to ask now.

xx

The numbers 3 under 5 of which 1 is under 1 are in place to protect the youngest children by not allowing us to have so many we can't cope with them!!

So yes you can change the ratios in favour of the older ones if you want as long as you stay within the numbers on your certificate.

The only thing to remember is that both the EYFS and Childcare Register tell us we have to put the younger children first.

So if the older ones impact on younger children's care and learning they have to leave!

Hth :D
