I think I read somewhere that someone wanted to know nubers of 2 year olds that will need funding

And if I am mistaken - well here it is anyway!

so only 700 in Dorset then - and I guess that there will be pockets where the need will be much higher.

Our borough hasn't got a number next to it so I guess that means they don't have any 2yr olds eligible for the free funding?

What does this mean though ?

Should I be looking at getting accredited to care for 4-3-2 year olds.

My area has 500 ?

so 2,500 in Herts and we are always being told we are an affluent county; which is why we never receive funding for anything - clearly not that affuent

At a recent conference, we were told 800 for our area and that shows us with 1100! They will never be able to get them all in to nursery spaces, so I guess its lucky I am on the way to becoming accredited anyway

Hi
I do currently provide 15 hours childcare for a funded 2 year old. Only problem so far is that I have been doing it for 4 weeks and have no idea when I will be paid. LA seem to be not too good on that side. I will give them another 2 weeks to see what happens

I'm not positive but I think all LA's work to a similar structure so my area send out Adjustment forms (this is the one you will need to complete as the child has started late for the summer term) wk commencing 28/05/2012 and you will receive the money during the last 2 wks of Oct.

They send out 3 different sets of forms at different times... the first one is an Estimate Form.. then you get an Actual Form and then an Adjustment Form, they all have deadlines to be sent back please do not miss a deadline you wont get the money as they are very strict on this. Ohh and double check that everything is signed properly as that could also delay or stop a payment

we have to start our children at the start of a term, as in north yorkshire we have a 'headcount' day a few weeks into term, and you only get paid for the children 'on roll' that week. we get paid every other month with either an estimated amount, from your previous term, or adjusted amount once head count has been sorted!

it sounds complicated, but the powers that be seem to understand it and i've always been paid on time!

The system changed in my la in april and we have yet to be told how it is going to work. If it was like the 3 year old funding I would have submitted paperwork and because of starting after estimate date I would be paid 2 nd week in July but 2 year old funding is done different just waiting to see how it will be done.
