Hi,

doing risk assessments & have a step going from the hall into the kitchen - was thinking of putting up a baby gate or ramp - would either of these be necessary?

YOu need to think about how you will keep different ages of children / babies safe on the step.

How will you control access? How often is it used? What if you use a gate and older children try to climb over it? What is you do not use a gate and babies are drawn to it?

Balance the risks and decide what's best... sometimes it's best to wait and see what the children do with the space but have a solution waiting just in case.
