Thank you Donkey - interesting reading - and well put.

Mind you I have to say havng a degree does not make you a better childcarer.

I don't have one - almost but I don't have a bit of paper - think I know my stuff. I also know some with degrees who can write a really good assignment but are rubbish at looking after the children.

You know I honestly don't know what to say to all this - it seems to have come from somewhere leftfield with no warning - I had never even heard of Ms Truss before this week and have no idea how much clout she has and her ideas seem to be only half-considered at the best estimation. There's so much been said all of a sudden I don't know where to start -deregulation/alternative regularion/capping charges etc etc -it's got my head spinning!
