Guys

I was looking at the petition last night and thought we needed a photo to be the face of the campaign. This could be an informal shot of children playing with their childminder - or children playing in a childminder setting.

When speaking to John at Change he also asked if there was a photo he could use to support the campaign.

So can you all have a look and post on here any photo's that you would be happy to use, have permissions to use (if applicable) and think best embody being a childminder so that we can choose one. Ideally we need to get an image agreed by end of play today.

Thanks Debs

this is one of my favourite photos, i use it on all sorts of things. i've had a look at all the others, and i have lots of smiling children doing things, i can't see one that sums up childminding! hopefully someone will have one!

i was thinking ... a whole 'heap' of children of all different ages would be good!

I have loads - all with full photo permission (but of course would double check)

What do you want cm and children, just children ?

There is always the one of me that was in who minds - but it might scare a few people off

We want a photo that embodies 'childminding'

post some that you think might work - we'll know it as soon as we see it.

I'm drawn to the puddle jumping one at the moment.

here is another one by Jo - I think this one is cracking and shows childminding off in its best light, taking kids to the beach, mixed age groups etc. what do we think - could this be the photo for our campaign?

The beach one is the ONE!!!! It shows different ages all together with their devoted childminder who knows each of their individual personalities inside out and they are at the beach! The whole picture could only happen with a childminder :)

ok lets go with the beach picture - and if anyone has any strong objections then we can always change it.

My only though is - how many of us can tke the children to the beach?

I agree it is a lovely photo - and says all the things that have ben mentioned - but I prefer the puddles one - as we can - and do that - all the time

I do agree Penny - but its an image that sets childminders apart from almost all other early years settings - nurseries and preschools can do the puddle jumping as well - but even if they were close to the beach they are unlikely to do so.

Its a lovely strong image, mixed aged groups

If anyone else agree's then shout - i'm happy to change it - this is 'our' campaign not one single person - i'm just the admin girl lol!

The reasons I prefer the beach one over the puddles one are:

1. A nursery could quite easily take the same picture in their back yard.

2. The beach one shows the childminder and also little ones up to a big one! Like I said, it could only really be a childminder's pic (or a family!). What other setting could take a pic like that?

3. OK, it's abit idealic and we can't and don't take kids to the beach every day, but I know I have a few times even though it's an hours drive away. Don't we want to show ourselves in the best possible light?

Thank you to everyone who commented on my photo - it really is one of my favourites, especially as a parent took it as she came to meet us so it is totally natural :)
Thank you to Debbie as well for all her hard work on setting up the petition xx

The beach one is it then :D - most people prefer it - and I agree it says a lot and is a lovely photo - thanks JoJoGiggles for letting us use it.

As Debbie says it is not her campaign or even hers and mine campaign or even the forum campaign - it is a campaign for all childminders
