My local dept is asking us to complete a survey on childcare.
One of the Qs was if childminders and settings should be subjected to the same standards -
I'm sure the answer is no but couldnt think of any points...
any help?

How do you mean - subjected to the same standards?

if you mean should we be regulated, inspected etc on the same level with the same gradings as settings so parents see us as equals, able to offer the same as settings but also better because we have lower ratios, home from home care etc then yes! :D

It was:
'Do you think that the criteria for becoming part of the Directory of Providers should be the same for settings and childminders?'

b) Review of current and future methods of supporting childminders'
