At singing time today one of my little mindees kept pointing to her nose when I asked what we could sing next.

My mind went completely blank & I couldn't think what nursery rhyme or song there was where you point to your nose. I tried Heads, Shoulders, Knees & Toes, but it didn't seem to be that.

Any ideas? I know there must be something and I know we probably sing it, but I just can't think

Ah, you might be into something there! I'm sure we were singing Wheels on the Bus when she started doing it! I wonder if that's what she does at home. Here we do a pushing a button action. Her mum was in a real rush at pick up time & I didn't have time to ask, but I will do tomorrow

Another definite possible. We sang If you're happy & you know it, but did clap your hands, stamp your feet, say we are. I'll try that one tomorrow

Sing a song of sixpence - it's an oldie but you steal the child's nose at the end!
Remember?

Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Oh wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king?

The king was in his counting house counting out his money,
The queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey
The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird and pecked off her nose!

:D

I don't think I've sung that with her, though I think I will.

She was just so pleased with herself that she was telling me something and I felt awful for not getting what she was trying to indicate. She enjoyed all the other songs, but I want to be able to sing her song!

And he flipped it and he flapped it and the fly flew away

Floppy ears and curly whiskers

I do one where it goes

Cheeky, Cheeky Chin
Cheeky, Cheeky Chin, Nose, Eyes

and we point to those different areas on the face as we are doing it.

I tried it with my mindee the other day and he just looked at me weird. Does anyone else know this one.
