Yes they do happen:D

I think this highlights the need to build positive relationships with your inspector. I am currently full every day of the week with a variation in place for 4 under 5's on a Wednesday. Unfortunately the granny of one of my mindees has become seriously ill and Mum has no one to help with child care for the three days that granny usually cares for the child. I emailed my inspector (as I often do;)) on Tuesday morning this week and by the end of the day I had a variation in place which allows me to care for 4 under 5's every day for as long as this family need it.

I did put a very persuasive case together but I am still impressed at the speed in which my request was granted. Now this poor family have one less thing to worry about.

So the moral of this story? Get in your inspectors good books:p

I wish I had your inspector!

Always got on great with mine but they moved me to a different inspector (and office) in April and I cannot get in contact with my new one! There is no reply at the new office - not even an answer machine. I have not been given her e-mail. I have even got my old office to e-mail her and she hasn't responded! Been trying to contact her for the last two weeks as the day was drawing closer.

Requested a temporary variation to start tomorrow and she hasn't contacted me at all. My old inspector e-mailed her before I sent it in too!. I can juggle for 2 weeks but then I have a problem with a sibling. If she hasn't contacted me on Monday I will ring my old inspector on Tuesday and see what she can do cos this is ridiculous. My old office was 10 miles away my new one is 35 miles away. They closed down the new office except for 2 inspectors and all the others moved to my old office. Another childminder has been having the same problems with her.

Oh that's really not on! Mine moved offices but I kept the same inspector.

I know they are really stretched but that is no excuse for such poor service. Give them what for on Monday:thumbsup:

Hope you get it sorted xx
