Yes they do happen:D
I think this highlights the need to build positive relationships with your inspector. I am currently full every day of the week with a variation in place for 4 under 5's on a Wednesday. Unfortunately the granny of one of my mindees has become seriously ill and Mum has no one to help with child care for the three days that granny usually cares for the child. I emailed my inspector (as I often do;)) on Tuesday morning this week and by the end of the day I had a variation in place which allows me to care for 4 under 5's every day for as long as this family need it.
I did put a very persuasive case together but I am still impressed at the speed in which my request was granted. Now this poor family have one less thing to worry about.
So the moral of this story? Get in your inspectors good books:p
