View Full Version : Do we observe 5 to10 year olds?

Hiya

I am going through my observations, as ofsted are coming soon. and was wondering do we have to observe the 5 and 10 year olds as theyre not in eyfs?

you don't have to, I don't have that age group anymore but when I used to look after and 9-11 year old they had a book that they could write what they had done in the day (normally over hols) or I could write, just so the parents could see what we had been up to, but TBH it took up more time than it was worth:o

hi i just have one girl who is 8 i do obs on her
i just take some pics and write a bit next to it
just shows what she is doing and how she is getting on

My over 5s are all part timers - before and after school and very occasionally in the holidays.

I take photos and put them in a memories book with a bit of writing but not much tbh... I also encourage them to contribute drawings or take photos of their own crafts etc.

They like taking them away as memories. :D

I dont do observations, but I take lots of photos and put them in a scrapbook. I especially take photos of things they have made so that parents can see them and for ofsed to prove we make things.
