Hi I have just started childminding and a bit confused about observations.
Do you have any ideas for activities that would be suitable for a 7 month old baby and cover the Eyfs areas of learning. I am a bit unsure of where to start.

Do you have any ideas for activities that would be suitable for a 7 month old baby and cover the Eyfs areas of learning. I am a bit unsure of where to start.

The place to start is with your 7 month old. Watch her when she plays - does she have favourite toys, is she rolling, sitting, reaching out or up to grab toys. Does she babble, smile, does she like snuggling in. All of these things are in the EYFS.

As for Next steps - keep it simple. Take a quick photo, add a caption about what doing and then a simple next step. Link it to the area of learning. :)

Hope that helps.

Try a treasure basket if baby is sitting unaided.....

Read the Development Matters guidance that comes with the EYFS for the baby's age and the next one up.

Look at the activity ideas and those will help you to make plans for the little one.
