Hi everyone,

At the moment I try to do at least 2 obs per child per week. i write down the obs, evaluate it and then fill in next steps.

Do any of you do small obs such as 'lo kicked a ball with left foot'?

If so how do you display these in the childs learning journey?

I was thinking of having a sheet of paper with each area on and then just write my little obs onto a post it and pop in on the relevant sheet. and fit this in monthly. Do you think this sounds ok?

Thank you in advance. :D

for really short obs, I try to take a photo and then print out a sheet of them each month (say 9 to a page) and just annotate underneath what they did.

I write my short obs down on a form i call "short observations of development" - I link the obs to the book and tick off on a progress tracker.
I too do about 2 or 3 short obs a week
I do a formal ob once a month which has linked from my next steps planning
I also print lots of photos a month to put in LJ with obs underneath x

I put the dated post it notes in - sometimes next to a pic , or sometimes 4 or so to a page , slotted in amongst the other obs.
