Default Old Christmas Cards - crafts

Does anyone have any ideas what we could do with our old Christmas cards aside from recycling!? Seems such a waste!

Do you want something now or are you happy to save them until next year? If you can save them I did some YouTube activities for using old cards.

Otherwise I will watch this thread with interest.

I've cut around some of the bigger cards and punched holes around the edge so they can be used as threading cards. I've also cut out some pictures from the cards which can be used to make Christmas collage pictures next Christmas (if I remember where I've put them in December!)

Yes I put mine away for next year - children can use scissors to cut out poictures to make christmas collages and make gift tags x

I make mine into simple jigsaw puzzles. Depending on the ability of the child I cut them in half/quarters/thirds etc. We also sort them into snowmen cards, Father Christmas cards etc. The children also enjoy re-writing in them and posting them in a make shift postbox. I cut out some of the figures for small world play or stick puppets.

Great minds! I was just going to post the exact same question. So far I've got planned-
    1. Sorting them into groups featuring snowmen, xmas trees, santa, nativity scenes, winter landscapes/houses, robins.
    2. using the ones that are winter themed (landscapes/snowmen/robins) for winter collages
    3. turn the snowmen and robins into finger puppets for winter songtime.
    4. use the backs for cutting practice.
    5. cut off shiny borders and use them when we do gold or silver as our colour of the week/month.

I like the jigsaw and the threading cards ideas. Thanks
