    Default January planning sorted!

    what do you think?

    Week 1 - Louis Braille's birthday... lots of sensory activities, which will suit my mindees as they are both sensory learners;

    Week 2 - Pongal ... yellow is the colour of Pongal, plus we will make & eat some Indian food; if I feel inspired we can make some playdough with Indian spices;

    Week 3 - Chinese New Year ... we will celebrate a week early and visit China Town; lots of Chinese activities;

    Week 4 - Australia Day ... have an indoor barbie; Aussie animals; sun activites to cheer us up;

    Running through the month... winter / penguins / snowy weather etc and following children's interests.

    I'm planning to continuous provision this month to see how it goes, so each week I am looking at...

    Book of the week; construction toys; cooking; games / puzzles; garden; ICT; malleable / messy etc...

    Job done... I hope!

    There are lots of shops in Manc China Town which sell things like red money envelopes, calendars, dragons on sticks, Buddhas (I got a lovely little one last year)... plus you can pick up free newspapers on some of the doorsteps to shops.

    Then we can go into the Chinese supermarket and look at the woks, treat ourselves to some new little dishes for the role play box and buy some noodles for our tea.

    I'm excited already!

    Wow Sarah, where do you find the time to do all those activities Im lucky if we fit a couple in a week !

    We go to playgroup 2 mornings, family storysack building 1 morning a week, either i visit H or she visits me 1 day and then that just leaves 1 morning and by then the children just want to lead the way Afternoons all the children sleep, then after school its lots of structured freplay whilst i sort out tea and try to talk to everyone about their day - all at once lol x

    Im doing monthly themes, a group weekly plan ( includes playgroup etc ) and individual monthly plans baised on obs x
