    Default Stories about environmental issues

Whenever I plan learning activities around caring for the environment, we either use non-fiction books or general stories about animals/plants (Rainbow Fish, polar animals, Oliver's Vegetables etc) and do a tenuous link to taking care of the environment for the sake of these beautiful animals and plants.

Do any of you know any stories/fiction/poems which specifically focus on any environmental issues?

Peppa pig has a recycling story (would give you the link but one of my little ones 'borrowed' it a few months ago), and Dora does some different ones too. I'm sure I have quite a few but I've packed all my books bar a handful. If you are still looking when I unpack I can give you a shout again.

    Ah brilliant, thank you!

Yes, if you do find anymore please let me know. I'm always building up my resources, much to hubby's dismay!

There is a book called dear whale and another called Sally and the limpet which are linked to greenpeace .. Not exactly environmental but equally linked to our environment.

I love this very old book. It has been the basis of lots of projects over the years.
When I first met my oldest s partner I knew we were going to get on when she told me this was her favourite book as a child....and we have!
    Dinosaurs and all that rubbish.

Oh yes, I know that one! Don't own a copy and so when I went on Amazon loads of other potentially lovely stories came up.

I clicked on the link thinking it was a book I'd never heard of, but as soon as the picture popped up I realised I knew it from my childhood. What a lovely flashback
