Colour sorting for fine motor skills
My two and three year kids have loved this recently and it's so easy
Pom poms of various colours
Large tweezers (found some in my first aid box)
Coloured bowls or cups to sort into (I use the ikea ones so cheap!)
Mix the Pom poms up put in a clear dish, and the little ones pick them up with tweezers and place them in the correct coloured bowl
It has really helped with their colour recognition and is great for strengthening the muscles they will use for writing !
Don't know where I heard of this so if it's here apologies for the repeat!
Can't attach photos sorry!

Thanks ... I got some scissor type 'tools' that have ball/scoop things at the end that the LOs like using to collect pom poms. Never thought of using tweezers! I use 'Strawberry hullers' as tweezers for LOs.
DD painted some kitchen roll tubes to match the pom poms for the LOs to put them down too.

to extend this one try getting a bag of mixed coloured golf tees , place them in playdough - then the los can place the correct coloured pompom onto the tee...

Maybe the older children can use chop sticks to pick up the pom poms as it is Chinese New Year :-)
