ask them! But be ready for answers relating to tv and gaming!
Don't stress , they have had a full on day at school , so just let them dip in and out of activities or crafts as they like. They can still get out in the garden , they just need wrapping up more! If they complain theyre bored I suggest they get out their school reading books - its amazing how quickly theyre suddenly completely engrossed in whatever toys and activities are out!

Mine like to chill out and watch tv and that's fine with me, they've worked hard all day at school!

Sometimes they'll colour or do a jigsaw too though and tbh they are only here for an hour or so until a parent comes.

Mine will do craft stuff occasionally but normally play games if I set a few out ready, sometimes we put music on and they dance or do party type games, dressing up (but usually I give them a focus such as today we used lots of jewellery & my silk scarves for a wedding or they get everything out & get bored 2 minutes later) but mainly I've found rotating toys that are available sparks their interest in them again ie garage & car box & build a train track or lego.

My DD, 5, is really into sketching at the moment and so I have bought her a sketching book (on sale at WH Smith) and she will just chill out and draw for a bit after school. We have also collected a huge bowl of conkers and tomorrow we are going to make a conker machine with boxes, cardboard tubes, scoops, tweezers, egg boxes etc. We are also going to paint them and decorate with glitter glue. They usually love den making at this age too, and exploring shadows with a torch.
