I have 3 maze puzzles, food tasting, picking up coloured rice with chop sticks and I am trying to get hold of lanterns too :-)

I have only small LOs so I am keeping it simple. We're going to read 'That's not my panda'.

I have printed off some bits from a well known site, we have tried to copy our names in Chinese, made some lanterns and played Chinese restaurants.
Next week we are going to a chinese new year activity afternoon that a group of childminders have organised.
I have Australian mindees so we are celebrating Australia day too and thrown in a couple of scottish activities for Burns night, its a busy couple of weeks!

We are doing pictures of horses where children draw on their eyes and tail and are using wool for his mane or just colouring a horse. We had a horses snack, so apples and carrots. Doing chinese finger blossom paintings, having chinese food and using chop sticks and we have watched chinese dancing on the computer and tried to copy what we see and have used ribbons to dance with, which the children have really enjoyed.

It is the 31st - just looked it up - loads of sites ( and my local restaurant where we are celebrating with the Chinese community next Friday 31st) say it's the 31st.
