I've been making some new ones for my little one today.....

Lentils
Twigs
Pasta
Glittered water
Pebbles
Water with bubbles (washing up liquid)

- Different coloured water (few drops of food colouring)
- Sand
- Stones
- Leaves (just a few plus it gives them the sense of weight with it being very light)
- Beads
- Lego
- Shells
- Feathers
- Water beads

Anything that fits inside is great.

Water beads!!!! This is a new idea!
Never heard of ten before.

They sell 10g bags on eBay.
How many bags would I need to half fill a drinking bottle as I don't know how much they expand.

Oil and water??

Does it give like a lava effect??

Wonder if you could put water and coloured oil like a lava lamp effect? If anyone figuers out how to do it please let me know.

That would be great wouldn't it....

Must be possible somehow - maybe not using oil but something else as they use something in the sensory water mats/letters/numbers etc.

They have a coloured liquid in there that you can move around in the water as you press on them x

pom pom and a little plastic Diver, in the same bottle, like the little plastic toy soldiers, plus glitter 'cos it looks good and I like sparkly!!.
when you turn the bottle over the pom pom sinks 'cos it's absorbed the water and become heavy and the Diver floats to the top - heavy and light, plus light (pom pom) absorbs water and goes from light to heavy. Ta Da!

I only havr glitter bottles at the mo... but i put a good dollop of glycrine in mine.. its slows down the flow of the glitter makes the water thicker i dye the watee to as well.. kids love them

im going to do some new ones today, have a load of water beads so will use them, glitter in water with little oil, pebbles, pasta - do you superglue the lids or just do them up really tight?

I wrapped trusty old black masking tape round mine!

I use silicone glue on mine to keep them water tight!

I made some smelly bottles.

1. Fill bottle with water and put it in the freezer until frozen.
2. Using a hand drill drill holes in the bottles (the ice stops the bottles collapsing while you are drilling).
3. Let the ice melt and dry the bottles inside.
4. Add lots of nice smelling herbs and flowers. At the moment I have rose petals, lavender and lemon slices in mine.

The children love to smell them, and drilling the holes is really enjoyable for the older ones.

Messy but happy...

I have been shopping on eBay this morning for little odds and sods may I add water beads were on this list. Ordered primary colours to start with - this is something I'm excited about as I'd never heard of them lol

Anyway - while I was having a look round... Noticed that on eBay they are selling some great vibrant all different coloured bells (pack of 200 for about £2) I think it was including postage.

Just thought I would let you know xx

Im doing this today. Just got 2 to start with. Going to put co-co beans in 1.. not ro sure about the other.. maybe some mint on cotton wool.. what do you think? Xx
