Default Differences in the UK to the US

It's half term in the UK and I'm planning on making a volcano with baking soda and vinegar... What is the baking soda equivalent in the UK!? Is it baking powder or bicarbonate of soda?! I'm so confused and I don't want to have disappointed children tomorrow!

    Thanks x

baking soda is bicarbonate of soda.
Baking powder does contain baking soda , but also cream of tartare and something else I cant remember , might be starch!

Yes, bicarbonate of soda with vinegar will make volcanoes. Use a smidgen of red and yellow food dye for an authentic colour too, but be careful it stains!

Try a teaspoon of bicarb. Maybe start with 100ml vinegar, poured slowly. It's an excellent drain cleaner too!
