How can I find a Childminder?

A recommendation from someone who has used a particular childminder is the best way, ask friends, colleagues and neighbours if they know of any.

Some childminders advertise in local shops and post offices or the local clinic and doctor's surgery.

Visit your local authority to find out if they list childminders in your area. The government national website for listings was taken down in April 2011.

You can also find Registered Childminders listed on www.childcare.co.uk, this the largest childcare search website dedicated to matching parents to relevant childcare. Free to register you can search by area, contact those advertising their vacancies and even advertise that you are looking for childcare.
